Women: Subjects of History

The Miradas de Mujeres Festival, in association with the National Archaeological Museum, has organised a symposium entitled “Women: Subjects of History” which aims to spark a debate about the female presence and women as figures in the course of human history.

Thanks to the rich holdings of museum institutions, today we can use historical artefacts to explore the role of women over time and in different cultures. This interpretation, which is occasionally suppressed, offers us a chance to lift the veil that often conceals the importance of women as active agents of history and restore them to their rightful place.
