The SECAH, the Spanish-Portuguese association for the study of ancient pottery in Hispania in Antiquity, tries with this Scientific Conference in the MAN to reflect on the current situation and the perspectives of this important part of the archaeological discipline. Through three Roundtables, focusing respectively on Training (where, what and how do we learn?), Research (what do we publish?) and the future challenges (where do we go?), teachers, researchers, doctoral candidates and archaeologists with diverse profiles will reflect on ceramology, aiming to detect the strengths and weaknesses that allow to improve the patterns of development in the next years. Each Round Table will be moderated by a coordinator who will focus the speech, participating in each case several invited professionals, and allowing the interaction with the attending public. The results will be summarized in three synthesis documents, which will be published in the association's electronic newsletter.
