This International Workshop is part of the activities of the I+D+i Project "Explotación, usos y distribución de la caliza de Espejón (Soria) en la Hispania romana y tardoantigua". It is dedicated to the analysis of stone in Antiquity from different perspectives and approaches. The strategies of extraction, distribution, commercialization and reuse of stone products are analyzed as well as the traces left in the landscape by this extractive activities that conditions the forms of occupation and exploitation of the territories analyzed. There are Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian researchers who have dedicated to the study of the marmora and quarries since Antiquity in the Mediterranean area.
