In Graeco-Roman Egypt there was a society going through transformation, a multilingual and multiethnic society in which religions and traditions met, were confronted and often mixed up. In this cultural and religious melting pot, funerary traditions have provided us with a rich material heritage, in which we will focus on a small artefact: the mummy label.
