The Modern Age collection consists of objects from the 16th to the 19th century, made with very different materials and manufacturing techniques. They fit in a chronological sequence encompassing kingdoms of Spanish monarchs of the Habsburg (1516-1700) and Bourbon (1700-1833) dynasties.

The selection exhibited includes Spanish and foreign objects which make an exceptional collection: every piece is a small jewel full of history and artistic, aesthetic and technical worth, regardless of whether it was made for decorative purposes or functional reasons.

The showcased objects have been arranged in chronological order and according to style to offer the public examples of artistic manifestations typical of the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical periods.
