The representation of large eyes is a common trait shared by this “Idol of Extremadura” and other objects known generically as “eye idols”. This artefact, whose entire surface is decorated, depicts with facial features, what may be a tattoo or face paint, and hair. The differences between the idols have been interpreted as references to specific territories or families.
