This was originally a polychrome sculpture with eyes filled with vitreous paste. The cavity in the back suggests that it may have been used as a cinerary urn. The figure represents a richly garbed woman with perfect, possibly idealised features.
The figure’s identity is a mystery, but it is thought to have both human and divine attributes. It has most recently been interpreted as a high-born Iberian lady who was deified by her descendants.Salto de línea
