Palermo

Numerous monuments of Palermo appear on the fifty-four postcards in this group, which evince a particular interest in the Palatine Chapel and the Norman Palace. The presence of other Arab-Norman buildings like La Zisa and La Cuba and churches such as San Giovanni degli Eremiti, La Martorana and the cathedral also testify to Emilio Camps's professional interests.

The majority of the postcards from around 1930 were issued by the great Italian publishers SEDA and Foto Celere. Another group of older, sepia-toned postcards belong to the Francesco Verderosa publishing house and show buildings and corners of the city, in some cases with a few ethnographic touches.
