Verona

Most of the thirty postcards comprising the Verona series are views of the city’s different monuments: the cathedral; Romeo and Juliet’s house; the mediaeval Piazza dell´Erbe and Piazza Dante, with the Torre dei Lamberti; the Scaliger Tombs; the Romanesque church of San Zeno; and the Roman monuments, the theatre, amphitheatre and the Porta Borsari.

Although there are some images by the author, most of them are commercial postcards by the publisher SEDA, which operated throughout Italy, and local publishers such as the Veronese firms Onestinghel, Gianni Ferrari, Calcografía Cavadini and V. Tosi, as well as the Milanese publisher Alberto Traldi.
