El Argar field journals

These notebooks, written between 1884 and 1889, document the excavation of graves 1 to 1036 at El Argar. Some have no date, and others have been approximately dated.

El Argar, Villaricos and El Oficio were the three most important excavations of Louis Siret's career, which is why they form separate series within the collection of field journals in his archive.

Pedro Flores always followed the same pattern in his notebooks: location of the tomb, description of its structure and grave goods, approximate number of interred individuals and, in most cases, a schematic plan with the location of the pieces.
