Historical Archive

The Archive of the National Archaeological Museum, an essential resource for anyone researching Spanish archaeology and museology, contains the documents published by the museum over nearly 150 years, as well as those acquired through purchases, donations and long-term loans of cultural assets and complementary collections.

The archive’s main objective, in addition to preserving, organising and managing the documents in the collection, is to provide information about the museum as an institution and about its collections.
