Event
Over the course of three months, the museum exhibited four extraordinary pieces that document the artistic production and religious sentiment of medieval Hispania, on public display for the first time. A cross from a Limoges workshop, a chalice from a Castilian workshop, a host mould for making communion wafers and a carving of the Madonna and Child are all examples of medieval Christian piety and profound religious devotion, materialised in the celebration of the Eucharistic liturgy or the Marian cult.
These works, dated to between the 13th and 15th centuries, were recently acquired for the MAN by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
